Frazier’s Takeaways from week 9

As the NFL season unfolds, each week brings excitement, drama, and unforgettable moments. From stunning upsets to breakout performances, the league's landscape is ever-changing. In this article, we'll dive into the most significant takeaways from the latest games, analyzing team dynamics, standout players, and emerging trends that could shape the playoff race.

It's the Lions, followed by everyone else in the NFC.

Detroit added another big-time win to its resume with a 24-14 win over its NFC North rival, the Green Bay Packers, at Lambeau Field. They don't even have their explosive wide receiver, Jameson Williams, who just finished the second game of his two-game suspension.

The Lions have been without their star edge rusher, Aidan Hutchinson, who broke his leg in the Lions' 47-9 win over the Cowboys in week 6. No matter what's been thrown at the Lions, they have responded with flying colors.

Detroit has another big challenge traveling to Houston for a primetime matchup on Sunday night football with another chance to show why their NFC counterparts and the NFL, the Lions, are the best team in the league.

Lamar Jackson, congratulations on your third MVP

The Ravens trounced the Broncos 41-10, and Lamar Jackson had another impressive performance.  The two-time MVP went 16 for 19 for 280 yards and three touchdowns against a Broncos defense that came in third in points per game allowed (15.0) and third in yards allowed per game (282.6).

Lamar is now second in passing yards (2,379), second in passing touchdowns (20), and first in QBR (77.3) with only two interceptions. Jackson is arguably the best player in the world, especially given Mahomes' struggles this season, and there's no reason to think Lamar won't continue this level of play going forward.

Can the best team in the NFC West please stand up?

The NFC West is as follows: 1st. Arizona Cardinals 5-4; 2nd. Los Angeles Rams 4-4; 3rd. San Francisco 49ers 4-4; 4th. Seattle Seahawks 4-5. That separates these four teams, and it's hard to determine which team will be the top dog come season's end.

The 49ers are still awaiting Christian McCaffrey's return and have already lost Brandon Aiyuk for the season. The Rams pray for consistent health from their two-star wideouts, Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp. The Seahawks look great one week and then get blown out the next. Then there's the Cardinals, who have an average defense but seem to have hit their stride at the right time. I do not know who the best team in the NFC West is, but it'll be interesting to see who wins the division and if one or two other teams can get Wild Card spots.
