NFL CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP PREDICTIONS

RECORD LAST WEEK 2-2

RECORD FOR THE PLAYOFFS 8-2

Sunday, January 30, 2022 - 3:00 pm Cincinnati Bengals @ Kansas City Chiefs Well, here we are down to the final four. The Bengals are appearing in their first AFC Championship game since 1988, while the Chiefs are hosting their NFL record fourth straight Championship game, after playing an absolute classic game last week against the Bills. These two teams met in week 17, a game in which the Bengals won 34-31 in Cincy. In that game, Joe Burrow and Ja’marr Chase went wild, as Burrow had over 400 yards and 4 touchdowns, and Chase had 11 receptions for 266 yards and 3 touchdowns. Chase has had over 100 yards in both postseason games. My concern for the Bengals is their offensive line, which allowed 9 sacks to the Titans last week. My concern for Kansas City is their secondary, which allowed 201 yards and 4 touchdowns to Gabriel Davis last week. However, the Chiefs have Patrick Mahomes, who has thrown for 782 yards, 8 touchdowns, and just 1 interception through two postseason games. Playoff Mahomes is as real as it gets, so the Bengals secondary will have their work cut out for them. The Chiefs have even got their run game going and with this new patient approach to the KC offense, it’s almost impossible to stop them. I believe the Chiefs will go to their third straight Super Bowl as they are the better team and after last week, they just won’t be stopped. Bengals 27 - Chiefs 34

Sunday, January 30, 2022 - 6:30 pm San Francisco 49ers @ Los Angeles Rams Another rematch, this time we’ve hit the trilogy as the 49ers travel to play the Rams. San Francisco has already defeated Los Angeles twice this season, including a come from behind victory in week 18 to secure the 49ers a playoff spot. The 49ers have won six straight games against the Rams, so LA will have to figure out a way to finally get over that demon. Stafford has thrown 2 interceptions in both games against San Francisco. Deebo Samuel has been the Niners MVP. He made big plays in the late moments of last week's upset victory over Green Bay. He and outstanding Left Tackle Trent Williams, are banged up, so that could be something to watch, as Jimmy G won’t be able to carry them to victory. The Rams advanced after defeating the Bucs last week 30-27, in a game the Rams led at one point 27-3 and escaped 30-27. The Rams need to play a full four quarter game against a team that will not go down without a fight. The Rams pass rush could very well carry them to a victory as Von Miller is resurging, securing a sack in six straight games, and Aaron Donald...well you know who he is. Matthew Stafford will have to continue his hot postseason play this week, and Odell Beckham Jr and Cooper Kupp will have to do more than their previous outings against the 49ers. I have the Rams finally ending their losing streak to the 49ers and setting up the Super Bowl matchup I predicted back in August. 49ers 24 - Rams 27
