NFL Divisional Round

Minnesota Vikings @ San Francisco 49ers

Although I picked the Saints last week in my blog, I was thoroughly excited when the Vikings won, because a month prior, I had called them as my sleeper team to make a deep playoff push. I should’ve stuck with my heart last week, but this week, that’s exactly what I’m going to do. Kirk Cousins is proving everyone wrong with his play this season, but it’s due to an overall improved team. Dalvin Cook has been incredible, and the offense is just different when he’s out there. My only cause for concern would be Adam Thielen and his questionable status for Saturday. The 49ers are a very complete team and they get key pieces Kwon Alexander, Jaquisky Tart, and Dee Ford back this week to make the team even stronger. The 49ers can take advantage of a subpar Vikings pass defense, but if Everson Griffin and company, can bring the pressure they brought last week, that would help the secondary out a ton. The Vikings should be able to get to Jimmy G, as only four other quarterbacks were sacked more than him in the second half of the season. I understand I’m in the minority here, but I have a good feeling about this Vikings team, and this time, I will follow that feeling.

Tennessee Titans @ Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens have won 12 in a row while the Titans finished the season 7-3. Both have incredibly strong run games, and Derrick Henry should be able to get his because he is that hard to stop, but Baltimore has too much talent on both ends to lose this game. The Ravens have won 8 of their last 10 by double digits, and now being rested at home. I expect the Ravens to advance to the AFC Championship game.

Houston Texans @ Kansas City Chiefs

The Texans hopped on Deshaun Watson’s back last week as they were down 16-0 and ended up winning 22-19 in overtime. The Chiefs ended the season surging on defense in the final month, and now, Patrick Mahomes seems to be the healthiest he’s been all season. These two teams matched up in week 6 as the Texans defeated the Chiefs in Arrowhead then, but Mahomes wasn’t healthy, Tyreek Hill wasn’t healthy, and left tackle Eric Fisher, wasn’t healthy. The Texans and Chiefs have two of the best young quarterbacks in the NFL and this should be an exciting matchup. I have Mahomes and the Chiefs advancing to play another young great quarterback in Lamar Jackson.

Seattle Seahawks @ Green Bay Packers

Wilson vs Rodgers the two quarterbacks with the most experience in the playoffs. Seattle defeated the Eagles last week to advance now, in what is, could be a snow game in Lambeau. D.K. Metcalf will need another game like last weekends if the Seahawks hope to advance. With the Seahawks lack of a run game, and three injuries to their offensive line, this should put fear in Seahawks fans hearts. Aaron Rodgers spoke this week on understanding the opportunity at hand. He knows his legacy needs this Super Bowl, as this is the best chance he’s had since the 2014-15 season. Green Bay has given him the run game and defense necessary, and if he can return to form, that would help a ton. In Rodgers down year he still put-up big-time numbers, and now at home, I expect him to advance Green Bay to the NFC Championship.
