NFL DIVISIONAL ROUND PREDICTIONS

RECORD LAST WEEK: 5-1

Saturday, January 21st, 3:30 PM CT

Jacksonville Jaguars @ Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs defeated the Jags earlier in the season in Kansas City, and now look to do the same this week in the playoffs. Jacksonville cannot afford to play the way they did last week if they get down 27-0 against the Chiefs, there will be no coming back. Another problem is, can the Jaguars get pressure on Mahomes. I doubt they can, but if the Jags can do anything, it’s score on this Chiefs defense. I expect a big performance from Mahomes in his first playoff game since last year’s AFC Championship loss to the Bengals.

New York Giants @ Philadelphia Eagles

The Giants played just about a perfect game offensively, last week against the Vikings. This

week however, is a much more difficult task going against the one-seeded Eagles. In order for the Giants to have a chance Dexter Lawrence and the Giants defensive line must have a

dominant performance. Jalen Hurts has been resting his shoulder injury for the past few weeks and should be close to normal this week, in his first game back. I think this game will be close but in the end, the Eagles at home move onto the NFC Championship game.

Cincinnati Bengals @ Buffalo Bills

This game is going to be a beautiful quarterback display between Joe Burrow and Josh Allen. These two teams previously played in week 17 but it was canceled due to Damar Hamlin suffering cardiac arrest on the field. Now, they run it back with the chance to make it to the AFC Championship game. The Bills play a very erratic style of offense and that can lead to games like last week when Josh Allen had multiple turnovers. Cincy has suffered multiple injuries to their offensive line but the Bills pass rush hasn’t been good since Von Miller went down. In the end, I expect the Bengals to win this game on the road and set up a rematch of last year’s AFC Championship game in Kansas City.

Dallas Cowboys @ San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers defeated the Cowboys in the Wild Card round last year in Dallas. Now a rematch

occurs in the Divisional round this time in San Francisco. A concern for me for Dallas in this

game is the fact that the Niners get an extra day of rest while the Cowboys are on a short week after a win on Monday against the Bucs. The 49ers and Cowboys both have good defenses and Nick Bosa and Micah Parsons can both wreck a game, so what will it come down to? Brock Purdy has been just about fantastic in his starts and is still undefeated since taking over after Jimmy G suffered a broken foot. In the end, I think this Dallas team is a lot more physical than the one from last year, and Dallas does have the talent to match up with the 49ers. Dallas upsets the Niners setting up a trilogy with the Eagles in the NFC Championship game.

Cowboys 30 - 49ers 28
