Chicago Bears - Probably the biggest winners of night one! “Da Bears” were able to draft quarterback Justin Fields. The Bears have struggled at quarterback for years, and now they have a quarterback who can end up being the steal of the draft. Fields has the potential to be the best quarterback from this class, and the Windy City has a quarterback they can be excited for!
Matt Ryan - Matt Ryan has been a topic amongst Falcons’ fans all offseason. Should they draft a quarterback? They ended up taking Kyle Pitts, who’s arguably the best player in the draft. Pitts is a 6’6 245- pound freak of nature who has drawn comparisons from Darren Waller to Hall of Famer Calvin Johnson. Pairing his potential with Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley, will make this Falcons offense a light show.
Trey Lance - A lot has been made about the 49ers’ number three overall pick. Mac Jones was the media favorite to be picked at this spot. But I knew if you traded up that much, you’re coming for a guy with immense potential. Enter Trey Lance, who, if he can improve his mechanics, could look a lot like Josh Allen from this past season. Lance enters the best situation a rookie quarterback has had since Patrick Mahomes in 2017, and now he’ll probably sit behind Jimmy Garoppolo for a year, and learn from arguably, the best offensive mind in football, Kyle Shanahan.
New York Jets - I know it’s a lot of people who don’t necessarily believe the hype in Zach Wilson, I’m not one of those guys. Zach Wilson is my favorite player from the draft, and I don’t think this Jets front office will fail him, the way they failed Sam Darnold. They showed that they plan on giving Zach everything he needs. When they traded up to the 14th pick, and selected Alijah Vera-Tucker, the top offensive guard in the draft, who will help improve that left side of the offensive line next to Mekhi Becton. The Jets are headed in the right direction.
Baltimore Ravens - The Ravens made the most of their picks getting wide receiver Rashod Bateman, who should be able to give Lamar Jackson that number one receiver he’s been missing. With their second first round pick, they selected defensive end Jayson Oweh, who will join a stout Ravens defensive line. Oweh was considered one of the top defensive players in the draft. The Ravens improved Thursday night.
