Green Bay Packers (0-0) @ Chicago Bears (0-0)
To start the NFL’s 100th season, we have the NFL’s most classic rivalry: Aaron Rodgers and the Packers travel to face Khalil Mack and the Bears. This game has excitement because Green Bay ended the Mike McCarthy era with hiring Matt Lafleur. I think Aaron Rodgers and the Packers will show this is a better team than last season, but I think the Bears’ defense will get after Rodgers and win a close battle.

Washington Redskins (0-0) @ Philadelphia Eagles (0-0)
The Redskins start the season traveling to this Philly team with a lot of potential. This is a nightmare matchup with Washington’s horrific offensive line going up against Philadelphia’s incredible defensive line. This Eagles team is too deep, and a finally healthy Carson Wentz loaded with atreasure chest of weapons that he has at his disposal will give the Redskins defense nightmares. Eagles pull away in the second half.

Buffalo Bills (0-0 @ New York Jets (0-0)
The Bills and Jets are two young teams who have been considered sleepers going into the season. The Bills and Jets have second year quarterbacks who have been said to have made big improvements this offseason. After he sat out all last season, I’m also excited to see the return of Le’veon Bell.. This will be an exciting game that the Jets will take and get their season off to a good start.

Kansas City Chiefs (0-0) @ Jacksonville Jaguar (0-0)
Patrick Mahomes and the explosive Chiefs offense take on Jalen Ramsey and the stingy Jaguars defense. Last year these two matched up, and the Chiefs won 30-14. Jacksonville feels they are back to the team that made the AFC Championship in 2017. Kansas City enters as Super Bowl favorites. This matchup will be fun, but before I believe in Jacksonville, I need to see if Nick Foles improves their offense enough for them to win more games.

Atlanta Falcons @ Minnesota Vikings (0-0)
The Falcons were decimated with injuries last season and now hopefully the injury bug stays away from one of the deepest rosters in football. The Vikings had a strong season but plummeted at the end of the season which led them to missing the playoffs finishing 8-7-1. Kirk Cousins has weapons with Adam Theilen, Stefon Diggs, and Dalvin Cook now Kirk must shed his career label of not being able to win big games. I’m picking Atlanta to show they are the bigger of the threats in the NFC between these two teams.

Los Angeles Rams (0-0) @ Carolina Panthers (0-0)
The reigning and defending NFC Champion Los Angeles Rams travel across the country to visit Cam Newton and the Panthers. The Rams have added some pieces that could lead to improvement in 2019, however, the question is if Todd Gurley’s health will be an issue. If the Rams can still operate at a high level with less touches from Gurley, they can preserve him for the playoffs. It’s week one, however, so I expect a healthy dose of Todd. Carolina received a scare a few weeks ago when Cam Newton sprained his ankle ,but he’s going to start and that gives Carolina a chance. This should be a physical game, but I expect the Rams to pull it out.

Baltimore Ravens (0-0) @ Miami Dolphins (0-0)
Baltimore enters the season with a lot of hype after Lamar Jackson finished the season 6-1 leading them to the playoffs. He seems to have improved as a passer which will be huge for the Ravens success in 2019. Miami seems to be all aboard the tank train they traded star Left Tackle Laremy Tunsil this Miami team will be fighting for the number one pick this season.

Cincinnati Bengals (0-0) @ Seattle Seahawks (0-0)
The Bengals is the team fighting with the Dolphins for the number one pick in the draft. The Bengals finally fired Marvin Lewis now the Zac Taylor era begins, and you must wonder if the Bengals will have to go through a full on rebuild. The Seahawks are always a potential threat, and that remains the same this season. They have talent everywhere and with Russell Wilson at the helm, you always have a chance to go far in the playoffs. Seattle handles week one with ease.

Sunday Indianapolis Colts (0-0) Los Angeles Chargers (0-0)
Andrew Luck retiring just two weeks ago was shocking, and now Jacoby Brissett is at quarterback and he is a quality starter who can handle this talented Colts team. The Chargers are another team considered a team that can make the Super Bowl, but with Derwin James out possibly until November and minus Melvin Gordon, they will struggle. They will need to get games like these to keep up with Kansas City.

San Francisco 49ers (0-0) @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-0)
Jimmy G returns from his ACL injury suffered last season to finally answer the questions of whether he is a franchise quarterback. The 49ers have a tough defensive line who will keep them in games. Tampa Bay has Bruce Arians at head coach, and now they need Jameis Winston to make the leap and play up to the potential he inconsistently flashes. I think this could go either way but give me Jimmy G and the 49ers.

New York Giants (0-0) @ Dallas Cowboys (0-0)
The Giants and Cowboys start the season playing each other what a big shocker. The Giants traded Odell Beckham, Jr., and now it seems as though they are in rebuild mode and will have to hope Saquon Barkley doesn’t break down from all the touches he’s going to get. The Cowboys have officially signed Ezekiel Elliot causing for a huge sigh of relief from Cowboy fans everywhere. The Cowboys strong run game and stout defense will get the Giants out of there easily.

Detroit Lions (0-0) @ Arizona Cardinals (0-0)
The first career star for Kyler Murray will be against the Lions. This is a game between two teams without high expectations, but it’ll be fun to see Kyler and this young Cardinal offense go to work. Detroit has a solid team, but nothing spectacular and their secondary except for Pro Bowler Darius Slay is mediocre at best. Give me the Cardinals!
Lions 20 Cardinals 26

Pittsburgh Steelers (0-0) @ New England Patriots (0-0) on NBC
The new look Steelers have had the quietest months they’ve had in a while. Antonio Brown and Le’veon Bell have moved in, and now the Steelers hope to continue their success without them. Juju Smith-Schuster and James Conner now take over the roles left by Brown and Bell. New England won their 6th Super Bowl Championship last season tying the Steelers for most in NFL history now Tom Brady comes back looking for #7 and New England although minus a retired Gronk has the weapons necessary. This New England team also has the capability to take the pressure off Brady by running the ball and winning with smash mouth football which is what will happen week one.
Steelers 21 Patriots 28

Houston Texans (0-0) @ New Orleans Saints (0-0)
I’m excited for this potential shootout in the Superdome. Deshaun Watson vs Drew Brees sounds like a fun way to start the season. The Texans added star Laremy Tunsil to give Watson the protection he’s so desperately needed. Drew Brees and the Saints aren’t happy, especially after how the way last years NFC Championship ended. The Saints will come out motivated to prove they aren’t going nowhere and will come out with the win.

Denver Broncos (0-0 @ Oakland Raiders (0-0)
The Broncos hired Vic Fangio traded for Joe Flacco and overhauled the coaching staff in hopes to return to their glory from what now seems ages ago. The Raiders traded for Antonio Brown and now Jon Gruden and the Raiders in their last year in Oakland hope to give the fans something to remember. This game will have its mistakes, but I think the Broncos run game and strong pass rush will be too much for Oakland.
