WEEK 5 NFL PREDICTIONS

RECORD LAST WEEK 11-5

RECORD FOR THE SEASON 38-25-1

Thursday, October 6th, 7:15. PM CT

Indianapolis Colts 1-2-1 @ Denver Broncos 2-2

Both these teams lost last week and will be looking to get back on track. Russell Wilson had his best game as a Bronco last week as he had three total touchdowns and no turnovers. It’ll be interesting to see if he can keep up the hot play against a Colts pass defense that has struggled this season allowing a 104.9 passer rating and 69% completion percentage with 7 touchdowns and only 1 interception through the first four games. The Colts will be without two of their stars running back Jonathon Taylor and Shaquille Leonard. A key matchup will be Michael Pittman jr vs Patrick Surtain II. The Colts have other weapons like Alex Pierce, Mo Allie Cox, and Jelani Woods. Short week football between two of the lowest scoring teams in the NFL and their both banged up I’ll roll with the home team.

New York Giants 3-1 @ Green Bay Packers 3-1

In another game in London this week the Giants sitting surprisingly at 3-1 face the Packers. The Giants held on against the Bears while the Packers struggled to beat the Bailey Zappe led Patriots. The Packers have become more of a run-first team and that has worked for them so far. Their defense will have to step up against Saquon Barkley and this Giants offense. Barkley has been on somewhat of a revenge tour as he had 146 yards last week. The Packers I suspect should win their fourth straight game

Sunday, October 9th, Noon games

Chicago Bears 2-2 @ Minnesota Vikings 3-1

An NFC North rivalry takes place as the Bears travel to play the Purple People Eaters. The Vikings pass offense vs the Bears pass defense will be a fun battle. Justin Jefferson had 10 catches for 147 yards last week now they face a Bears secondary that has been a strength for them this season. The Bears haven’t passed the ball this season as Justin Fields has 34 completions for the season. The Vikings will need to focus on the run to win this week. I have the Vikings moving to 4-1

Bears 13 Vikings 23

Los Angeles Chargers 2-2 @ Cleveland Browns 2-2

The Chargers head to the Dawg Pound this week to face the Browns. Justin Herbert got back on track last week in a win over the Texans. Meanwhile, the Browns lost to the Falcons. You can make the case the Browns should be 4-0 oh well. The Browns hopefully will have Myles Garrett back and he’ll be needed against a beat-up Chargers offensive line. The Browns run game led by Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt has led the way for them and that’s bad news for a Chargers defense that hasn’t been able to stop the run. I’m rolling with Herbert and company to pull out a win in Cleveland.

Chargers 28 Browns 24

Miami Dolphins 3-1 @ New York Jets 2-2

The Dolphins will face the Jets with Teddy Bridgewater at quarterback after Tua suffered that scary concussion last Thursday. The Jets got their second win of the season in Zach Wilson’s return. The Jets defense has been very good this season, especially against the pass with cornerbacks D.J. Reed and Sauce Gardner. This game will be close as the Jets are feisty but give me the Dolphins.

Dolphins 24 Jets 21

Atlanta Falcons 2-2 @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers 2-2

Somehow this game is for first place in the NFC South. The Falcons got a big win at home last week while the Bucs were embarrassed at home by the Chiefs. The Bucs will have to stop the Falcons run game that has led the way for their offense. The Falcons will be without Cordarrelle Paterson, but they still have two other running backs that can get the job done. The Falcons have struggled to protect Marcus Mariota and the Bucs have one of the best pass rush units in football. That should be enough to roll with Tampa Bay.

Falcons 20 Bucs 31

Detroit Lions 1-3 @ New England Patriots 1-3

The Lions must see tv and if they had even an average defense, they’d probably be 3-1. The Patriots gave Green Bay all they could handle with their third-string quarterback Bailey Zappe. It’ll be difficult for Detroit to go into New England and get the win I expect the Patriots to hold the Lions in check enough to win.

Lions 23 Patriots 24

Seattle Seahawks 2-2 @ New Orleans Saints 1-3

Geno Smith has been good for the Seahawks having them in a four-way tie in the NFC West for first place. The Saints a popular preseason playoff pick is off to a slow start. They lost last week to the Vikings in London. I expect them to bounce back at home this week and get the win.

Seahawks 20 Saints 26

Pittsburgh Steelers 1-3 @ Buffalo Bills 3-1

The Steelers finally put in rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett last week, but they blew a 10-point lead and lost to the Jets. Now they travel to Buffalo arguably the best team in the league. I expect Buffalo to handle things easily at home in front of Bills Mafia.

Steelers 14 Bills 31

Houston Texans 0-3-1 @ Jacksonville Jaguars 2-2

The Jaguars have been tough to beat and that’s why they sit tied for first place in the AFC South. The Texans still searching for their first win won’t get it this week against the Jags.

Texans 17 Jaguars 21

Tennessee Titans 2-2 @ Washington Commanders 1-3

The Titans won their second game last week defeating the Colts while the Commanders lost their third straight game. The Commanders look nothing like the team that came to play in week one. And I don’t think they’ll get that fixed this week against Derrick Henry and the Titans.

Titans 27 Commanders 17

Sunday, October 9th, 3 PM Games

San Francisco 49ers 2-2 @ Carolina Panthers 1-3

The 49ers held the Rams to 9 points last Monday so imagine what they’ll do to Baker Mayfield and a struggling Panthers offense. The 49ers will win their second straight game and send Carolina to 1-4.

49ers 24 Panthers 10

Dallas Cowboys 3-1 @ Los Angeles Rams 2-2

Dak Prescott has pushed to be back for this game but with the way Cooper Rush has played combined with the Cowboys defense, they may just keep Dak resting on the sideline for another week. The Rams offense has struggled this season, but I do believe back home in So-Fi they’ll be able to end the Cowboys three game win streak

Cowboys 17 Rams 20

Philadelphia Eagles 4-0 @ Arizona Cardinals 2-2

The Eagles are the last unbeaten team in the NFL, and they travel to Arizona to face the Cardinals. Arizona defeated the Panthers last week and they sit in a four-way tie in the NFC West at 2-2. The Eagles defense has been just as good as the offense and I feel Philly’s defense is going to win them this game

Eagles 26 Cardinals 20

Sunday, October 9th, 7:20 PM CT

Cincinnati Bengals 2-2 @ Baltimore Ravens 2-2

In an AFC North rivalry, the Bengals travel to Baltimore to face the Ravens. The Bengals swept the Ravens last year and it will be fun to see if the Ravens can get their revenge on them. Lamar Jackson has played at an MVP level but the Ravens have wasted some of his performances as they have lost two games in which they had double-digit leads. The Bengals have gotten their season back on track winning their last two games. I like the Bengals to get their third straight win.

Bengals 31 Ravens 27

Monday, October 10th, 7:15 PM CT

Las Vegas Raiders 1-3 @ Kansas City Chiefs 3-1

The Chiefs have dominated the Raiders the past few years. The Raiders won their first game of the season last week at home against the Broncos. The Chiefs dominated against the Bucs last week and now back at home they should be able to continue their dominance over the Raiders,

Raiders 23 Chiefs 35

Russell Wilson hasn’t looked like an elite QB all season. Broncos are probably looking for a trade soon.
