Week 6 NFL Predictions

Thursday October 10th 7:20 PM CT on FOX

New York Giants 2-3 @ New England Patriots 5-0

After back to back exciting Thursday night matchups I don’t see us getting three in a row especially with the Giants missing Saquon Barkley and Sterling Shepherd the Giants go into this game shorthanded against a Patriots defense that has allowed only 6.8 points per game. I haven’t even brought up the fact that Kirk Cousins looked good against this defense Last week. I can only imagine what Tom Brady will do.

Carolina Panthers 3-2 @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers 2-3

Another game in London has two NFC South teams who have looked better than advertised after opening the season poorly the Panthers may have a new quarterback and the Bucs may have unlocked the potential, they had been waiting to see in Jameis Winston. Christian McCaffrey has been unstoppable this season he is the second player with 175+ scrimmage yards and one touchdown in their team’s first four games of the season. However, the one game he did struggle was week 2 against Tampa Bay when they held him to 37 yards rushing and 16 yards receiving. I think Carolina does a better job this time around as Cam Newton struggled mightily in that game, but Kyle Allen shouldn’t have the same problem.

Cincinnati Bengals 0-5 @ Baltimore Ravens 3-2

The Bengals looked better than expected when they played well week one in Seattle but since then they seem to have gotten worse and worse. Meanwhile, the Ravens who started off the season looking like a threat to the Chiefs and Patriots have fallen off the past few weeks and Lamar Jackson has struggled. The Bengals are wounded offensively missing AJ Green and John Ross which shouldn’t help against a Ravens defense that has struggled to stop people. Lamar Jackson should get back to dominating this week in Baltimore.

Seattle Seahawks 4-1 @ Cleveland Browns 2-3

Russell Wilson is somehow just now getting the recognition he deserves last week against the Rams he put on a show going 17 for 23 with 4 touchdowns. Seattle looks good and although they have their weaknesses, they have playmakers on both sides of the ball. I thought Cleveland hit their stride with the whooping they put on the Raven s but on Monday night they were embarrassed by the 49ers. The Browns have too much offensive talent to only score 3 points. A west coast team traveling 3 time zones over is normally a problem but with Cleveland’s drama and Russell Wilson’s steady hand the Seahawks should be just fine this week.

New Orleans Saints 4-1 @ Jacksonville Jaguars 2-3 12:00 PM CT

Teddy Bridgewater has filled in incredibly for Drew Brees. In his three starts Teddy has six touchdowns to one interception and is 3-0. The Saints are rolling, and their defense has been stepping up. Gardner Minshew has been a nice story as the undrafted rookie has played very well. The Jaguars have struggled defensively without Jalen Ramsey, but the offense has held their own. Minshew will make his plays but Teddy and the Saints stay on their hot streak.

Saints 28 Jaguars 23

Houston Texans 3-2 @ Kansas City Chiefs 4-1

The game I’ve been looking forward to all week DeShaun Watson and the Texans vs Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. Two quarterbacks taken in the 2017 draft square off in what should be an offensive showcase. Houston has the potential to hand KC their second loss in a row especially with the offensive line injuries KC is dealing with and Mahomes tweaking his ankle last week in the loss vs the Colts. Watson will put on a show against this poor Chiefs defense, but I feel after the offense was limited to just 13 points last week the Chiefs will bounce back especially if they get Tyreek Hill back. Give me the Chiefs.

Texans 31 Chiefs 34

Washington Redskins 0- 5 @ Miami Dolphins 0-4

A fight for the #1 pick in next years draft this matchup is the first between two winless teams this late into the season since 2004. The Redskins fired Jay Gruden this week and now look for their first win. This game is hard to pick because of how poorly both teams have played but I believe the Dolphins will get their first win at home

Redskins 16 Dolphins 19

Sunday October 13th 12:00 PM CT on FOX

Philadelphia Eagles 3-2 @ Minnesota Vikings 3-2

The Eagles and Vikings two of the NFC’s most talented rosters will go to battle this week. The Vikings have been making sure Kirk Cousins doesn’t have to do more than necessary but when asked to do more he has let them down. Dalvin Cook is now the focal point of the offense, but this week may be another week where Cousins must step up. The Eagles have the top ranked run defense and we all know how Cousins has struggled against good teams throughout his career. The Vikings defense is no slouch either but with the Eagles starting to hit their stride offensively I think the Eagles will win their third straight game.

Eagles 27 Vikings 24

Sunday October 13th 3:05 PM CT on FOX

Atlanta Falcons 1-4 @ Arizona Cardinals 1-3-1

The Falcons look to get back in the win column as the Cardinals look to win their second straight. Two bad defenses and two bad offensive lines setup for some very poor football but with the Cardinals not having the talent that Atlanta has offensively I’ll take the Falcons to pick up their first win since week 2 and improve Matt Ryan’s record to 6-1 vs the Cardinals.

Falcons 26 Cardinals 21

Sunday October 13th 3:05 PM CT on FOX

San Francisco 49ers 4-0 @ Los Angeles Rams 3-2

Battle of two of the best offensive minds in the league Kyle Shanahan vs Sean McVay. The 49ers sent a statement in their blowout of the Browns on Monday night now they can put an exclamation point on it with a win vs the Rams. The Rams have won three of four against the 49ers dating back to 2017 however the 49ers one win came against a Rams team resting their starters. This game will be good with the Rams fighting to avoid a third straight loss while the 49ers look to start 5-0. I believe this 49ers defense is real and wit the Rams missing Todd Gurley even more pressure will be on Goff.

49ers 23 Rams 21

Sunday October 13th 3:25 PM CT on CBS

Tennessee Titans 2-3 @ Denver Broncos 1-4

Two top 10 defenses face off in the Mile High as the Titans face the Broncos. The Titans one week look like a playoff team and the next they look like they will finish last in the AFC South. Denver has looked better than their record indicates but now must deal with the cards they were deal. I think this game will be physical and both teams will have running backs to rely on with Derrick Henry and Phillip Lindsay, but I feel like Denver found some momentum last week in Los Angeles and they’ll win their second straight.

Titans 17 Broncos 23

Sunday October 13th 3:25 PM CT on CBS

Dallas Cowboys 3-2 @ New York Jets 0-4

The Cowboys have lost two in a row after having everyone fall in love with them through the first three weeks. Dak Prescott needs to have a bounce back game this week as he threw three very bad interceptions last week. The Jets get Sam Darnold back this week and hope to get their first win of the season however this will be one of those games where Dallas’ defense plays to its potential and Dak and the offense show signs of life.

Cowboys 31 Jets 21

Sunday October 13th 7:20 PM CT on NBC

Pittsburgh Steelers 1-4 @ Los Angeles Chargers 2-3

The Steelers are fighting that is obvious especially with the way they played last week against the Ravens. Mason Rudolph has been up to the task since replacing Big Ben Roethlisberger but after the scary concussion he suffered last week the Steelers will trot out Delvin Hodges against a Chargers team upset after losing last week at home against the Broncos. The Chargers have lost 4 of 5 home primetime games but this week they throw that to the side and get the win.

Steelers 13 Chargers 23

Monday October 14th 7:15 PM CT on ESPN

Detroit Lions 2-1-1 @ Green Bay Packers 4-1

A battle for supremacy in the NFC North the Lions travel to Lambeau to take on the Packers. Detroit has been a surprise this season as they’ve been playing impressively on both sides of the field. Green Bay finally has a defense and run game to take pressure off Rodgers now they must end a four-game losing streak to Detroit. The Lions will get back All-Pro cornerback Darius Slay while the Packers will be without number one wideout Davontae Adams. I think Detroit will extend their win streak over Green Bay to five games and take first place in the North.

Lions 24 Packers 23
