RECORD LAST WEEK-10-6
RECORD FOR THE SEASON- 48-31-1
Thursday, October 13th - 7:15 PM CT
Washington Commanders 1-4 @ Chicago Bears 2-3
The Commanders suffered a loss last week to the Titans at home, now on a short week they
head to Chicago to face a Bears team that lost heartbreakingly, to the Vikings. If you’re a
betting person, I highly recommend selecting the under in this game as Washington and
Chicago rank 26th and 27th respectively, in points per game. A short week and the Ron
Rivera Carson Wentz drama gives me no confidence in the Commanders.
Commanders 16 -Bears 19
Sunday, October 16th - Noon Games
San Francisco 49ers 3-2 @ Atlanta Falcons 2-3
The 49ers travel to Atlanta to play a team that has been an early season surprise in the
Falcons. The Niners defense has been fantastic this season ranking first in total defense, first
in rushing yards allowed, and third in passing yards allowed. The Falcons offense has been
one of the more fun to watch, and this will be the ultimate test for them. The Falcons could
be without Kyle Pitts, and that could hinder the offense. The Falcons being the home team I
expect them to play the Niners tough, but in the end, the Niners defense will be too much
for the Falcons.
49ers 26 - Falcons 17
Cincinnati Bengals 2-3 @ New Orleans Saints 2-3
The Bengals head to New Orleans to play the Saints. Cincy suffered a loss to the Ravens last
week while the Saints defeated the Seahawks in a shootout. The Bengals offense has been
inconsistent, but if the Seahawks can put up 32 points on the Saints, so can the Bengals. I
also have concerns with Andy Dalton manning the offense. I don't expect Taysom Hill to have the game he had last week either, so give me the Bengals on the road.
Bengals 30 - Saints 24
Tampa Bay Buccaneers 3-2 @ Pittsburgh Steelers 1-4
Kenny Pickett's first home start comes against the Bucs and their elite defense. Pickett has
done some good things, but the Steelers offense has remained stagnant, only scoring three
points last week in a blowout loss to the Bills. I expect the Bucs to get the win on the road
Bucs 30 - Steelers 13
Jacksonville Jaguars 2-3 @ Indianapolis Colts 2-2-1
Jacksonville defeated the Colts earlier in the season 24-0 at Jacksonville. The Colts are on a
nice rest after securing a win over the Broncos last Thursday. The Colts have yet to show any
type of offensive progression. The Jaguars have come back to earth the past few weeks, and
lost to the Texans at home last week. I picked the Colts to win last time and I’m going to do
the same this week, but not with much confidence.
Jaguars 20 - Colts 23
New York Jets 3-2 @ Green Bay Packers 3-2
The Packers lost to the Giants last week in London blowing a 17-3 lead. Back at Lambeau this
week against a Jets team playing with a ton of confidence. The Packers defense hasn’t been
as good as I hyped them up to be in the off-season. The Jets blew out the Dolphins last week 40-17, and sit at 3-2, a surprise so far this season. I think the Jets and their young confident team play the Packers closely but, in the end, fall just short.
Jets 24 - Packers 28
New England Patriots 2-3 @ Cleveland Browns 2-3
Bailey Zappe has done a good job for the Patriots so far and won his first start last week at
home against the Lions. The Browns defense has struggled so the Patriots may stick around
but with the Browns strong rushing offense attack, I expect the Browns to win this game and
get back to 500.
Patriots 20 - Browns 21
Baltimore Ravens 3-2 @ New York Giants 4-1
The Giants sit at 4-1 and are arguably the biggest surprise in the NFL so far, and pulled off an
impressive comeback win last week against the Packers in London. Saquon Barkley has
looked like the best running back in the league, and the Giants defense has been very
impressive. The Ravens, if not for two huge blown leads, could sit at 5-0, but here they are at
3-2, still in first place in the AFC North. Lamar and the Ravens should be able to get the win
this week as they are the better team, and I’ll roll with them the against the G-Men
Ravens 26 - Giants 20
Minnesota Vikings 4-1 @ Miami Dolphins 3-2
The Vikings almost blew a lead to the Bears last week while the Dolphins lost Teddy
Bridgewater and were blown out on the road against the Jets. The Vikings offense against
what is right now, a bad Dolphins defense, and with Tua and Teddy in concussion protocol
not knowing who the starter is. I’ll roll with the Vikings.
Vikings 29 - Dolphins 23
Sunday, October 16th - 3PM Games
Carolina Panthers 1-4 @ Los Angeles Rams 2-3
The Panthers fired Matt Rhule this week and Baker Mayfield has a high ankle sprain, so the
Panthers will start P.J. Walker against a Rams team who has lost two in a row, and has
mustered up a combined 19 points in those two losses. The Rams defense should dominate
this week and hopefully, the offense can build some confidence.
Panthers 10 - Rams 27
Arizona Cardinals 2-3 @ Seattle Seahawks 2-3
This could very well be a shootout, especially with the way Geno Smith is playing. The
Cardinals have had slow starts, having yet to score a single point in the first quarter, but
against the worst defense in football, the Cardinals should be able to hit the ground running.
The Cardinals defense has been good in recent weeks and I believe in Kyler Murray to carry
this offense to a road division victory.
Cardinals 31 - Seahawks 30
Buffalo Bills 4-1 @ Kansas City Chiefs 4-1
Very well could be the game of the week: the top two QBs in the NFL Josh Allen leads the
Bills into Kansas City looking for revenge from their playoff loss in January. These have been
two of the three best teams in the NFL, and now face each other in what is the first big game
of the season. I’ve sat with this game all week not knowing who I would pick but, in the end,
I can’t bet against Mahomes, especially in Kansas City.
Bills 30 - Chiefs 34
Sunday, October 16th - 7:20 PM CT
Dallas Cowboys 4-1 @ Philadelphia Eagles 5-0
In another game that could claim game of the week, the Cowboys face the undefeated
Eagles for first place in the NFC East. The Cowboys have won four straight behind their elite
defense, and the quality work of Cooper Rush. Now, Rush has his biggest challenge facing
the Eagles. This game will be an old-school battle with whoever has the better running game
while both defenses are great. Whoever allows the other team to have success running will
lose. I see the Eagles at home getting the win.
Cowboys 17 - Eagles 20
Monday, October 17th - 7:15 PM CT
Denver Broncos 2-3 @ Los Angeles Chargers 3-2
The Broncos offense has been abysmal and cost them a win last Thursday against the Colts
as they only scored 9 points. Now, they face a Chargers offense that, even banged up, is still
explosive. The Chargers defense has been bad, but the Broncos offense has been way worse, and the Chargers should get the win at home.
Broncos 17 - Chargers 21
