NFL WEEK TWO PREDICTIONS

Last week record 9-7

Thursday, September 14th, 7:15 PM CT

Minnesota Vikings 0-1 @ Philadelphia Eagles 1-0

These two matched up last year, and the Eagles dominated 24-7. The Eagles played a sloppy game against the Patriots but were able to pull out the win. The Vikings suffered a home loss to the Bucs in a game where they committed too many turnovers. This is in primetime so Kirk Cousins is bound to struggle. Philly for the win.

Vikings 17 Eagles 30

Confidence Level: 8

Sunday, September 17th, Noon CT games

Chicago Bears 0-1 @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers 1-0

The Bears were demolished last week vs. the Packers while Tampa Bay defeated the Vikings on the road. The Bears defense struggled mightily last week, and I don’t see them getting any better this week on the road against the Bucs. Baker Mayfield leads the Bucs to a 2-0 start!

Bears 17 Bucs 26

Confidence Level: 6

Los Angeles Chargers 0-1 @ Tennessee Titans 0-1

The Chargers defense was embarrassing last week against the Dolphins, and the Titans offense was terrible against the Saints. Joey Bosa and Khalil Mack were unable to really get to Tua last week, but the Titans offensive line is fragile and Ryan Tannehill threw three interceptions last week in the Titans loss to the Saints. With all the talent the Chargers have, I’m going to trust them to bounce back this week.

Chargers 23 Titans 16

Confidence Level:4

Kansas City Chiefs 0-1 @ Jacksonville Jaguars 1-0

KC has a tough game following their loss to Detroit last week, a road game at Jacksonville, but they do have Chris Jones back and will probably have Travis Kelce back as well. DeForest Buckner had a helluva game against the Jags interior offensive line, so imagine what Chris Jones will do. This could very well be a shootout, and although the Chiefs will need a much better performance from their wide receiving core, I’m going to trust Mahomes and Reid to get this team into the win column.

Chiefs 30 Jaguars 27

Confidence Level:3

Indianapolis Colts 0-1 @ Houston Texans 0-1

Two AFC South rookie Quarterbacks square off this week. Anthony Richardson had an impressive outing in his debut, Stroud struggled in his debut vs. the Ravens but he showed flashes. The Texans defense was very good against Baltimore and I think their D-Line will have a field day against the Colts offensive line.

Colts 14 Texans 17

Confidence Level:2

Green Bay Packers 1-0 @ Atlanta Falcons 1-0

Both these teams performed well in their victories last week. Green Bay is on the road once again and Atlanta is at home for the second week in a row. Green Bay won’t have an easy time with Atlanta, but I do have concerns with Desmond Ridder and this Falcons passing offense, so in the end, I’ll pick Green Bay to move to 2-0.

Packers 24 Falcons 20

Confidence Level:5

Las Vegas Raiders 1-0 @ Buffalo Bills 0-1

Buffalo is on a short week after losing to the Jets in overtime on Monday night. The Raiders pulled out a narrow victory over the Broncos last week. Josh Allen is looking to bounce back after a four-turnover performance, and the Raiders defense could be just the thing for him to get back on track.

Raiders 20 Bills 34

Confidence Level:9

Baltimore Ravens 1-0 @ Cincinnati Bengals 0-1

The Bengals were awful against the Browns putting up only 3 points and 142 total yards. The Ravens offense struggled but they still came out with the win over the Texans. These two teams faced off in the Wild Card round last January, and the Ravens almost pulled off the upset in Cincy without Lamar Jackson. I can’t see Cincy starting off 0-2 so I’m going to pick

them in this division matchup.

Ravens 23 Bengals 26

Confidence Level:4

Seattle Seahawks 0-1 @ Detroit Lions 1-0

The Lions shocked the Chiefs last week in Kansas City while the Seahawks didn’t put up their best performance in a loss to the Rams. The Lions pass rush showed the potential to be one of the NFL’s better units, and with the Seahawks offensive line injuries, I’ll pick the Lions to get the win in their home opener.

Seahawks 23 Lions 29

Confidence Level: 8

Sunday, September 3:00 pm CT games

San Francisco 49ers 1-0 @ Los Angeles Rams 1-0

The 49ers were absolutely dominant in a 30-7 win over the Steelers, while the Rams were almost as dominant in their 30-13 win over the Seahawks. They’re on the road again to face their divisional rival and in the end, I think the 49ers pull off the win in a close game.

49ers 26 Rams 20

Confidence Level 8

New York Giants 0-1 @ Arizona Cardinals 0-1

The Giants were shutout last week 40-0 in their loss to the Cowboys, and the Cardinals suffered a close defeat to the Commanders. The Cardinals performed way better than a team that we thought would be tanking. This game will be close but the Giants are the better team and should get the win.

Giants 24 Cardinals 19

Confidence Level:4

Washington Commanders 1-0 @ Denver Broncos 0-1

The Commanders won a close contest last week over the Cardinals while the Broncos suffered a 17-16 defeat to the Raiders. The Broncos offense moved the ball much better but still wasn’t able to get past their dreaded 16-point barrier. The Commanders defense is much better than the Raiders and if Denver isn’t able to get pressure on Sam Howell, the Commanders should get the win in Mile High.

Commanders 20 Denver 13

Confidence Level:5

New York Jets 0-1 @ Dallas Cowboys 1-0

Zach Wilson makes the start for the Jets after Aaron Rodgers sadly tore his Achilles and will be out for the season. The Jets defense will always keep them in games but when Dallas also has an elite defensive unit, I see Dallas causing some Zach Wilson turnovers and getting the win.

Jets 16 Cowboys 28

Confidence Level:9

Sunday, September 17th, 7:20 PM CT

Miami Dolphins 1-0 @ New England Patriots 0-1

The Dolphins high octane offense heads to Foxboro to face their AFC East rival. The Patriots defense will be a much tougher task than the Chargers but at the same time, Mac Jones won’t be able to keep up with Tua and the explosive Dolphins offense.

Dolphins 28 Patriots 23

Confidence Level:8

Monday, September 18th, 6:15 PM CT

New Orleans Saints 1-0 @ Carolina Panthers 0-1

The Saints hung on last week 16-15 against the Titans while the Panthers struggled and lost to the Falcons 24-10. Bryce Young struggled against the Falcons and he’ll do the same this week against a better Saints defense.

Saints 17 Panthers 14

Confidence Level:5

Monday, September 18th, 7:15 PM CT

Cleveland Browns 1-0 @ Pittsburgh Steelers 0-1

The Browns are playing another AFC North rival after defeating the Bengals last week. Pittsburgh lost in disappointing fashion 30-7 to the 49ers. The Steelers offensive line struggled against the Niners pass rush and now, Cleveland comes in with their own dominant pass rush. I think the Browns run game and strong defense will lift them to a win over their foes.

Cleveland 20 Pittsburgh 16

Confidence Level:3
