WEEK TWO NFL PREDICTIONS

RECORD THIS SEASON 8-7-1

Thursday, September 15th - 7:30 PM CT

Los Angeles Chargers 1-0 @ Kansas City Chiefs 1-0

Two Super Bowl contenders and AFC West rivals go head-to-head as Justin Herbert leads the Chargers into Kansas City to play the Chiefs. The road team has won the last four meetings in this rivalry. Justin Herbert and Patrick Mahomes both put on masterclasses in week one, now Herbert will look to show the Chargers are here to dethrone the Chiefs in the West while Mahomes and company look to show they are still the dominant force they’ve been the past four years. This game screams high scoring affair, and whoever has the ball last, will probably take the win. I have Mahomes and company getting the W this week.

Chargers 27 - Chiefs 30

Sunday, September 18th- 12:00 PM CT games

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 1-0 @ New Orleans Saints 1-0

Tom Brady has been bullied by the Saints in the regular season going 0-4 against them,

including being shutout last year in a 9-0 loss. However, Brady and the Bucs did defeat the Saints in the playoffs back in January 2021, on their way to winning Super Bowl 55. The Falcons ran all over the Saints last week as they had 201 rushing yards averaging 5.1 yards per carry. That’s news for Leonard Fournette, who had 127 yards on 6.0 yards per carry against Dallas. I see the Bucs getting pressure on Jameis and forcing him into a mistake while Leonard Fournette has another big day on the ground.

Bucs 23 - Saints 20

Indianapolis Colts 0-0-1 @ Jacksonville Jaguars 0-1

The Colts had to make a tremendous comeback just to finish with a tie against the Texans. It

was a disappointing start to the Matt Ryan era in Indy. The Jaguars have been the Colts Achilles heel in recent memory, even ending the Colts chances at the playoffs last year in week 18. The Jaguars came up short last week to the Commanders 28-22, and look to bounce back in their home opener. Doug Pederson and Frank Reich coached together during the Eagles Super Bowl run back in 2018. The Colts led by Jonathon Taylor should be able to get the Colts their first win in Jacksonville since 2014.

Colts 27 - Jaguars 20

Washington Commanders 1-0 @ Detroit Lions 0-1

Jared Goff and Carson Wentz will be forever linked due to them being the first and second overall picks in the 2016 draft. Carson Wentz had a rollercoaster first start, as a Commander throwing four touchdowns and two interceptions. He came up clutch, leading Washington to a 28-22 victory. The Lions made a massive comeback but ended up falling short to the Eagles 38-35. Both these defenses will probably have trouble stopping one another, so I’ll go with the home team getting their first win of the season.

Commanders 23 - Lions 27

Miami Dolphins 1-0 @ Baltimore Ravens 1-0

Last season, these two teams played each other, and the Dolphins pulled the upset over the

Ravens on Thursday night in Miami. The Dolphins come to Baltimore looking to go 2-0 after

defeating the Patriots last week. The Ravens will do what they normally do, play physical football while running the ball and playing defense. The Ravens have a deep enough secondary to try and contain Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. I expect the Ravens defense to cause more trouble for Tua than the Patriots could, and end up moving to 2-0.

Dolphins 17 - Ravens 23

New York Jets 0-1 @ Cleveland Browns 1-0

The Jets offense was horrendous last week, but their defense played extremely well showing

their young players on the defensive end have a lot of potential. The Browns run game with Nick Chubb, and Kareem Hunt should be able to lead the Browns to victory this week while Myles Garrett should dominate the Jets offensive line and get to Joe Flacco.

Jets 13 - Browns 24

Carolina Panthers 0-1 @ New York Giants 1-0

This is one of the harder games to predict, as the Giants upset the Titans last week behind

Saquon Barkley and his return to himself. The Panthers fell just short in the Baker Mayfield

revenge game against the Browns. I like how Brian Daboll has the Giants competing already

and I have the G-Men moving to 2-0.

Panthers 21 - Giants 24

New England Patriots 0-1 @ Pittsburgh Steelers 1-0

Another game that could go either way, the Steelers are coming off an upset over the Bengals last week. The Steelers will be without the reigning Defensive Player of the Year, T.J. Watt, who injured his pec last week. Also, running back Najee Harris is dealing with a foot injury, but he said he should be good to go. The Patriots lost to the Dolphins last week and

it’s hard to find the talent on this roster. Both these offenses struggled last week, and I expect a similar theme this week in a low scoring game.

Patriots 14 - Steelers 16

Sunday, September 18th - 3:05 PM CT Games

Atlanta Falcons 0-1 @ Los Angeles Rams 0-1

The Rams have had a long layoff after their embarrassment against the Bills in the season

opener. Hopefully, that was enough time for Sean McVay and the Rams to make adjustments, even if not, they played the Falcons who should be 1-0, but in typical Falcons fashion, they blew a lead and ended up losing to the Saints last week. The Rams should be able to handle this game with ease at home in LA.

Falcons 13 - Rams 30

Seattle Seahawks 1-0 @ San Francisco 49ers 0-1

The 49ers played in a monsoon last week losing 19-10 to the Bears. Trey Lance will look to have a better passing day at home, and even though they lost running back Elijah Mitchell to a knee injury, we may see more of Deebo Samuel in the backfield, who had eight carries last week for 52 yards and a touchdown. The Seahawks ruined the Russell Wilson homecoming defeating the Broncos Monday Night 17-16. This game won’t be the layup people thought it would be before the season, but I expect the Niners to come out with the W.

Seahawks 19 - 49ers 24

Sunday, September 18th - 3:25 PM CT Games

Cincinnati Bengals 0-1 @ Dallas Cowboys 0-1

This would’ve been a toss-up, had Dak Prescott not injure his thumb, which had to have a plate inserted on Monday. The Bengals offense was embarrassed by the Steelers defense, as Joe Burrow had four interceptions and a fumble in their 23-20 overtime loss to Pittsburgh. The matchup between Ja’marr Chase vs Trevon Diggs will be fun, but in the end, I don’t think Cooper Rush will be able to hang around with the Bengals offense in a shootout.

Bengals 30 - Cowboys 17

Houston Texans 0-0-1 @ Denver Broncos 0-1

The Broncos and Russell Wilson will play their first game in Denver against the Texans. The

Texans played to a tie last week against the Colts, and now playing a Denver team that will

be ticked off after their embracing week one performance. I expect Wilson and the Broncos

to look more prepared this week in their home opener and get their first win in the Russell

Wilson era.

Texans 17 - Broncos 28

Arizona Cardinals 0-1 @ Las Vegas Raiders 0-1

The Cardinals and Raiders both lost last week, but the Cardinals were absolutely embarrassed against the Chiefs in a 44-21 loss. These two playoff hopefuls look to avoid an 0-2 start. Both these pass defenses were horrible last week. This should be a high scoring affair between two good quarterbacks in Kyler Murray and Derek Carr. I have the Raiders

winning this shootout and moving to 1-1.

Cardinals 26 - Raiders 31

Sunday, September 18th - 7:20 PM CT

Chicago Bears 1-0 @ Green Bay Packers 0-1

The Packers suffered a 23-7 defeat to the Vikings and now look to get that bad taste out of

their mouth against their division rival, the Chicago Bears, who are 1-0 after their win against the 49ers. Matt LaFleur should make the necessary adjustments to the Packers offense, and I expect Green Bay and their defense to play more up to their potential against Justin Fields and this young Bears offense.

Bears 20 - Packers 31

Monday, September 19th - 6:15 PM CT

Tennessee Titans 0-1 @ Buffalo Bills 1-0

The Bills showed why they were the Super Bowl favorite, and now, having their home opener in front of Bills Mafia on Monday night, they will come out ready to go. The Titans suffered a defeat at home to the Giants and have the daunting task of defeating this very complete Bills team. The Titans have won the last two meetings against the Bills, but this

won’t make it three as Josh Allen and the Bills send the Titans to an 0-2 start.

Titans 21 - Bills 31

Monday, September 19th - 7:30 PM CT

Minnesota Vikings 1-0 @ Philadelphia Eagles 1-0

This will be a fun one, the second game of the Monday Night Football doubleheader, the

Vikings take on the Eagles. The Vikings put on a very impressive display, dismantling the

Packers last week 23-7, while the Eagles dominated the Lions in the first half before having

to survive the Lions comeback attempt 38-35. Justin Jefferson and A.J. Brown put together

big games last week, as Jefferson had 184 yards and Brown had 155 in their respective

games. Can the Vikings pass rush have similar success this week against a much better

offensive line in Philly. Jalen Hurts and the Eagles, as they usually do, will rely on the run

game. Jalen Hurts and the Eagles defense struggled in the second half, but I expect them to

be able to slow down the Vikings explosive offense and control the clock giving Philly a 2-0

start.

Vikings 21 - Eagles 26
